Homemade Brown Sugar Scrub

This homemade face scrub is great for everyday use! I personally have to use a scrub or some type of exfoliation for my face so it doesn’t feel like I have build up.
I love how clean this scrub leaves my face. To be honest every homemade product I’ve used on my face feels great and refreshing. I have never felt quite like this with store-bought skin care products. Those always left me feeling i guess, clean but stripped of something. Using all these homemade recipes really makes me see a difference in my face. At least that’s how I feel. It’s great to know that all my personal products I make myself and get much better results, in my opinion.

Here’s what you need:
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbs honey
1 tbs olive oil
Couple drops of lemon

Here’s what you do:
Mix together and store in jar or container.

Apply this all over face lightly massaging it around your face.
Leave on face for 5 minutes. To be honest sometimes I just massage and rinse but it’s up to you.

If you have the time why not give yourself a little treatment.

Why honey?

Honey’s natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun’s rays, supports the skin’s ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple. One of the most common natural skin care benefits with honey is related to treatment of minor acne acne which could be caused by hormonal changes or “heatiness in the body”, as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) would call it to refer to the imbalance of yin and yang in the body. Honey absorbs impurities from the pores on the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent. With the wide-ranging of natural skin care recipes, it is no wonder that there exists a huge number of honey products in the market for hair care, baby care, skin care for sunscreen, hand lotions, facial scrubs and moisturizers

Why olive oil?

Do not be afraid of applying oil to your face. Oil, alone, will not bring you blemishes. Pimples, cysts, zits, blackheads, whiteheads…these are a result of several different factors including hormones, bacteria, dead skin cells and the buildup of these factors. Your skin naturally produces oil because it needs it. It is not a malicious force to be reckoned with; it is there for the benefit of your skin, allowing your largest organ to function properly. It is naturally occurring. Not only does your natural oil help lubricate, it also heals, protects, and moisturizes your skin so that it may function properly. Properly functioning skin is beautiful, clear, and glowing. Learning to work with your skin, not against it, will save you tremendously.
